John believes that Ward 6 deserves an alderman who will represent their interests on the Common Council. If John is elected, his top priority will be listening to the residents of Ward 6 and ensuring that their concerns are addressed.
Before and after the election, John plans to hold monthly ward meetings.
John thinks that the Common Council needs more Democratic aldermen to be politically balanced. Currently, only one out of ten (10%) aldermen are members of the Democratic Party. However, the ratio of voters in Hornell is 39% Democrats to 61% Republicans. When one party controls city government, alternate solutions to local challenges tend to be ignored.
Mahatma Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." John hopes to be a catalyst for positive change in the City of Hornell. He wants to build bridges with the mayor, city employees, and other aldermen—regardless of party affiliation—to find sensible solutions to the challenges faced by our community.
